LocalFind Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-25
LocalFind searches your own files on your own phone. It does not collect, store or send your data anywhere else.
What stays on your phone
- The files you add (photos, videos, audio, PDFs, text) are read only to build a search index.
- The search index (text snippets and numbers that describe your files) is stored only inside the app on your phone.
- Your searches are never recorded or sent anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. LocalFind has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. The app does not have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send data even by accident.
Permissions
- No internet permission.
- No storage permission. You choose files and folders with the system picker, and Android gives the app access only to those.
- Foreground service and wake lock: keep indexing running in the background while you use other apps.
Downloads from Google Play
When you install LocalFind from Google Play, Google delivers the app and its on-device AI model. This is handled by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy, not by LocalFind.
Removing your data
Removing a file from the library deletes its index data. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
Children
LocalFind does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
